“No one was waiting for me as I arrived at Cape Town Station. My stomach was empty.”
Despite arriving in South Africa with virtually no possessions, Nyasha retains his principles throughout experiencing the dark side of street life in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Leaving his home, family, life and wife in Zimbabwe, Nyasha seeks to make a new life for himself. The contrasts between Zimbabwe and South Africa are evident and stark.
Ela Gweja is a story of hope, aspiration and inspiration. Nyasha will need every ounce of his sense of humour if he is to survive and thrive in his new life.
