Christmas is coming, what better gift than a book? And we have a great book with an African theme to entertain and educate the little ones, illustrated and in full colour. Copies are available, contact me here to find out more details or visit our online shop through our partner, DotDot here.

This book can also be purchased on Amazon, here.

It’s another exciting day for friends Sue, Tim, Thandie and Bongani along with Bert the dog, on Sausage Tree Game Farm.

Thandie spots a family of Ground Hornbills wobbling their way down the road.

These odd-looking birds hold a secret and the children are about to find out when danger comes their way.

How can the Ground Hornbills save the day?

About the author:

The author, Sharon Ray, has two degrees and a diploma plus a wildlife qualification.

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology and Microbiology; and Bachelor of Education Degree plus a Higher Diploma in Education. She was an educator for 35 years teaching high school Maths, Science and Biology and lecturing post-matric. After that she then ran a nursery school for 18 years teaching preschoolers. She has worked with parents and children and encountered many challenges along the way. Using this knowledge, she has written parenting advice based on her extensive experience in this field.

Having three children of her own also equipped her to understand children’s love of a good story.  Her work in the field of wildlife conservation as an Honorary Ranger, assisting in rhino protection and conservation inspired her to pass on this love of the African bushveld to children. She undertstands the need to create a greater understanding of the environment; and the pressing need for conservation so as to ensure that this unique heritage will be passed on to future generations.
