About the author

Kim Schreuder-Horn is an experienced lawyer (admitted as an attorney of South Africa and solicitor of England and Wales). She is the proprietor and principal attorney of the law firm Schreuder Attorneys in Sandton, South Africa which she had established over 25 years ago and where she still practices as a lawyer today.

During 2004, Kim wrote about a wonderful and whimsical mole character, then filed (and totally forgot) about these stories until their recent re-discovery in 2020 during a routine office clean. Despite the lapse in time, and in between the serious business of lawyering, Kim has discovered, and rediscovered, her delight and joy for creative children’s book story-writing.

Her children’s stories involve the joy and delight of learning, discovery and re-discovery. They are focused on early development/ junior school development and learning for children between the ages of 0 and 8 years (her picture books) and between the ages of 9 and 13 years old (for this novel). Kim is a firm believer that no one is ever too old to learn, and she avidly advocates trying new things that make you learn, discover and re-discover. She hopes that the readers of her books and stories will take as much delight in reading them as she has had in writing them.

Kim’s books have also provided a wonderful opportunity for new and up-and-coming South African illustrators to showcase their wonderful talents.

Kim lives in Sandton, South Africa and is married with two teenage daughters.

This is Kim’s first novel following four picture books featuring the adventures of Mole.
