Jean takes us through her own unique voice through a life that has seen many changes. Throughout, Jean’s career as a nurse, from Apartheid-era South Africa through to the present day she has learnt much and now passes these life lessons on in this book.
I loved this book! It was nostalgic and with lots of humour, and it made me cry and laugh at the same time. It is very heartfelt with great advice. One of my favourite reads!

About the author
For over half a century, Jean Mitton has been a lifesaver.
For 56 years she has worked as a qualified nurse, a counsellor and a carer to those in need (in intensive care, geriatrics and hospice care amongst other fields). She also coaches in Life Skills. Jean has seen the world, living and working abroad, but is most happy now living in her childhood home, built by her father’s own hands, near Johannesburg in South Africa.
Jean has university degrees and diplomas, but most importantly, her wisdom has been earned diligently through the School of Life; it is a wisdom she now shares in this book, with humour, kindness and insight gained from a rich life.
Jean lives with Mary the cat, who is the BOSS and her dog Smiley.
