About the author
Dr John Higgins’s academic career commenced with electronic transmission engineering and quality engineering obtaining diplomas and certificates from the RSA Department of Education, USA Society for Quality Control and UK City and Guilds certificate in Quality Control. Thereafter four degrees BCom, BCom (Hons), MCom (Reliability), and DCom (Product and Service Quality) from the University of South Africa were obtained. During his career, Dr Higgins was the quality and project executive for a large internationally branded electronic manufacturing company and thereafter was appointed as the CEO of a national service company covering South Africa and the neighbouring states before moving on to lecturing and consulting on Lean Six Sigma throughout South Africa and internationally.
